Good points. JSON processing tools I find helpful in addition to JavaScript include Gron aka "grep for JavaScript" ( https://github.com/tomnomnom/gron https://github.com/tomnomnom/gron ), jq for querying, json_pp for pretty-printing and `bat` for syntax highlighting.
