Growing up in Akron, Ohio where the older blimps were based was a magical experience. Summer evenings were frequently augmented by a flyover with the lighted, motion-graphic display in operation. We could hear the engines from miles away and knew we were in for a treat. With the newer blimp technology, I wonder why there isn’t a move toward offering deluxe cruises across America in extended gondolas with sleeping quarters and food service? —- similar to a river cruise in the sky. Surely there is a niche clientele who would pay well for this unique experience. I would jump at the opportunity.
