Windows is trying to swallow linux. That's all there is to it.
- rafaelvasco 5y agoThere was a reason for me to dual boot Linux before. There's no reason now. Windows now fulfills all my needs. OS singularity.
- rbanffy 5y agoNot sure if the pun was intended, but Microsoft had an experimental OS called Singularity. Legend says it was so heavy it sucked. Ba dum tsss
- throwawayswede 5y agolol, more like OS locking. Enjoy your prison!
- dgellow 5y agoWhat are you talking about? Where is the OS locking mechanism? The anti-MS conspiracies are really out of control.
- throwawayswede 5y agoNot here to argue. Enjoy your gulag.

- Koshkin 5y agoEmbrace, extend, extinguish... Soon enough WSL2 will have (nice) capabilities that the natively installed Linux won't.
- oblio 5y agoEmbrace, extend, extinguish... what? Desktop Linux marketshare is 1% at best. Linux won on mobile (Android - 70%+), server (hard to say, maybe 90%?), cloud (same) and "big" embedded (have no idea, but it's used for most retail routers, various tools, etc), it can't be extinguished.
- fmakunbound 5y agoCool. Then I’ll create Linux only applications and be compatible on both platforms. Bye bye to Win32, I guess.
- pkrumins 5y agoNot just trying to swallow, they have pretty much swallowed it. The one last thing that is missing is `cryptsetup` support in WSL and as soon as that works, I don't see using Linux myself anymore.
