I seem to remember that after SCO declared bankruptcy, the court assigned some administrators to handle their remaining assets and debts, and the administrators decided to use the assets to pay the lawyers rather than SCO's creditors, but there also turned out to be some conflict of interest in that the administrators were connected to the law firm, or something.
