Biden's spending plan could cost up to $4T, Penn Wharton analysis shows
- bediger4000 5y agoGiven that yearly DoD spending is at or near $750 billion, this is just 5 and a bit years of military spending for the USA. The USA also generally ups the DoD budget somewhat every year. One might think that because the DoD can't be audited due to extraordinarily messy financial systems, the DoD appropriations are actually lining someone's pocket, and the reason people piss and moan over non-DoD spending is that nobody gets to grift off it.
- Bostonian 5y agoBiden has not called for drastic cuts in defense spending. I don't think "we spend a lot of money on X" is a good argument for "let's spend a lot more on Y".
