Last of original SCO vs. IBM Linux lawsuit settled
- dane-pgp 5y ago> "Under the Settlement Agreement, the Parties have agreed to resolve all disputes between them for a payment to the Trustee [TLD], on behalf of the Estates [IBM], of $14,250,000." If IBM is prepared to pay out $14m to make the case go away, no wonder Xinuos is trying the same strategy.

- jbirer 5y agoDamn, I was 14 when I first heard about this. I can only imagine the judicial resources wasted on this that could have been used on more important cases.
- bediger4000 5y agoWho gets the payoff? There's people behind this, not just some faceless "SCO's creditors" entity. Does Darl McBride get some money? Is he even still alive? What about Orin Hatch's son, who was a SCO lawyer? The whole thing stank.
- dane-pgp 5y agoI seem to remember that after SCO declared bankruptcy, the court assigned some administrators to handle their remaining assets and debts, and the administrators decided to use the assets to pay the lawyers rather than SCO's creditors, but there also turned out to be some conflict of interest in that the administrators were connected to the law firm, or something.
