A 1970's Teenager's Bedroom
- jleyank 5y agoI wasn’t all that rich but with a little care and a willingness to settle for grade b equipment I went to grad school with 6 Advents (4 large, 2 small). 200W Dynaco and 100W Hafler amps, Dynaco PAT-5 preamp, Denon table with carbon arm and a Denon cassette player. Have the hearing loss to show for it. Brandenburgs at 70W continuous is nice. The trick is to have enough headroom to ever clip… Edit: if it doesn’t flutter your shirt it’s not bass.
- simonblack 5y agoThe trick is to have enough headroom to ever clip… Ain't that the truth. I had a 200 watt per channel power amp. It didn't sound very loud, but you could clearly hear the details of the music half a block away.
