Its not just overall electricity use over time, but by doing high frequency spectral analysis, they can identify the type of load, eg. your washing machine is running, or your oven is on.
- acomjean 5y agoThat was just starting to happen when I left. We would just put a current transformer on the mains and each circuit and label it to try and glean details. It was a difficult install, and this new kind of install is way easier .. We wondered how well it could separate out the individual circuits.
