I agree. The deliberate weakening of the "organic" label in the US has been more damaging to its value than the occasional fraud. More broadly, the more I learn about the practices and laws governing the US food system, the more I'm willing to spend on local food grown by people I trust. It's certainly not perfect and I'd rather have trustworthy enforcement or certifications, but it's better than nothing.
