You can get that service today from either HP, Dell or Lenovo - if you're willing to pay for it...
- samstave 5y agoYes, but this was free (included in my warranty) and for some reason I was setup with "Executive Level Support" on a consumer laptop I bought at freaking WALMART! I am now typing this on my shiny new Omen 15" that is a bad-ass machine (aside from the actual chassis, which is too plastic for my taste... but the guts are beautifully designed. Ill take some pics. and the support was absolutely wonderful.
- eitland 5y agoAround here and somewhere around 2008 I had HP come out next business day (which around here in practice always means not next day but the next after that) to fix the screen on my personal nc6320. I paid nothing except the original purchase price of the machine. Around the same time some friends of me had problems with a "family type" HP PC and it took a few months - before they got someone elses machine with someone elses photos and documents on it back. The lesson learned from talking to them on the phone was that business equipment and home equipment were served by to different departments, and the difference was not who owned it but what class of equipment it was. I haven't worked that close to hardware lately and my latest Dell and Lenovo laptops have worked well enough that I haven't really had an opportunity to test what it looks like today ( although that might be about to change since my latest Lenovo has activated "Microsoft Bake my Laptop" 4 times during the last month or so).
