What is your source for this? I have openly talked about this with Japanese people because I was curious to know their own biases (which I observed in every country) about this topic.
But what they said to me is that it is taught properly. They definitely talk about their own crimes and mistakes.
Far more importantly, they also speak about the whole political picture that led to the conflict, and that includes not only the mistakes of Japan, but also most importantly those of Europe and America.
