Thank you for this comment. It reflects quite well my experience and feelings. As a foreigner that is really interested in the culture and worked hard to learn the language as well as toward my integration, my experience has been completely different that what you often can read on internet. Most expat communities (including Reddit) are just incredibly negative and toxic because they live in a 'foreign bubble' that, while physically in Japan, has nothing to do with it.
