Ask HN: Interesting gopher holes?
I'm trying to find some interesting tech/science/history/literature content to follow in gopherspace. Any ideas?
- jason_s 5y agoTIL gopher still exists

- kovac 5y agoNice, thank you!
- kamalatta 5y agoNot specific to your subject, but here's a list of active gopher servers: gopher://kamalatta.ddnss.de/1/links I regulary search for active/new gopher servers. This list gets updated daily.
- mindcrime 5y agoI like how there is a "diffs from yesterday" link. Makes it easy to look for newly added gopher servers. gopher://kamalatta.ddnss.de:70/0/links/diff-alive.txt
- kamalatta 5y agoNice, ha? Mostly it's just a funny feature I implemented, because I ping my server list one time a day. So sometimes a perfectly alive server gets marked dead when I can't reach it at that exact moment. But I have to say, that around 10% of the servers which were alive around the hype 2017/18 gone down. Nevertheless it's fun to look around. There are so many gems to find, you'll never find on the WWW. Besides that gopher makes fun to host from your living room.
- kovac 5y agoThanks! It's very useful!
