Workplace Individualism
- chiefalchemist 5y agoIndividuals are bad. Unions are bad. It seems that "leadership" is only happy when followers follow blindly. Unfortunately, that's not how leadership works. Yes, the pendulum is swinging back. It's swinging back to leaders actually having to lead.
- eigengrau5150 5y agoSociety doesn't look out for me. Government doesn't look out for me. The company doesn't look out for me. My boss doesn't look out for me. Even my "friends" and "family" don't look out for me. If I want somebody to look out for me, I guess I'd better do it myself. Don't like the way I look out for myself? Maybe you shouldn't have made it necessary for me to do so in the first place through your own mercenary indifference to my needs, desires, and welfare. I ain't your friend. I ain't your family. I'm here to do the job and get paid. Of course I'm going to put myself above the organization. If I dropped dead on the job you'd have my job posted before my obituary, and you think I give a single little fucking shit about you or your company? Robert Glazer can eat my unwashed mercenary ass.
