I've found that using vi is like driving a manual transmission car after driving an automatic for a long time. There's a brief adjustment period but then it all comes back to me in terms of knowing how to use it. I tend to be lazy and use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible regardless of the OS I'm using. With vi it's basically heaven since they were able to make it a powerful text editor without a modern GUI.
