Back when I had to choose names for our kids, I needed to find names that were pronounceable in both Danish and Gujarati. Solving this involved taking names lists from both languages, and getting the phonemes for each name (based upon the language pronunciation). Following that it was a simple matter of finding the names with the shortest edit distances, so we could shortlist names that were familiar enough in each language. My wife ended up picking names off the top of her head that entirely coincidentally were part of the shortlist.
