Isn't the roomba mostly random? At least my old model surely looked like it. Random enough that if you let it run long enough it will overlap... enough.

- orzig 5y agoHaving just bought a robot vacuum cleaner, my understanding is that the more recent versions abandoned the “random by design“ approach in favor of mapping the room a little bit. I assume sensors got good enough in the last few years to allow that strategy.
