Amazon.com BBB Business Profile
- darknavi 5y agoThe scam that is BBB aside, it doesn't seem like their services really scale to a product the size of Amazon.com. Amazon shoves so much stuff onto their website that I don't think a single review would really do any part justice. I'm happily surprised that they haven't tried to pull Audible onto it.
- jimt1234 5y agoI worked at BBB in the mid-90s, before I considered "computers" as a career. The experience really opened my eyes to how "scammy" the world can be. BBB is a for-profit company that, above all else, serves itself. I remember my first day on the job when I was introduced to the sales team. "Wait. What? 'Sales team'?"
- weird-eye-issue 5y agoNever had an issue with Amazon's customer service and I've been buying stuff with them for well over 10 years now...
- chomp 5y agoI heard an analogy that the BBB is just Yelp for older people and I can’t stop thinking about it. Our business was subscribed about 15 years ago, and we could handwave away bad reviews. Our current business is not. Are there any recent studies that show its effectiveness with the newer generation of people? Most people I talk to these days realize it’s a scam.
- hippich 5y agoNever tried it - but does complaining through Yelp gets problem solved? (I used BBB a couple times and each time I was able to get business to do the right thing, where they would ignore me otherwise)
- johntiger1 5y agoThey need to normalize by size of company..
- LeoPanthera 5y agoWho ever goes to the BBB to leave a positive review?
- Someone1234 5y agoWho ever goes to BBB regardless? It is Google Reviews with a confusing name.
- LurkingPenguin 5y ago1.16/5 from 1,845 reviews = B+ rating
- hippich 5y agoRating is based on other stuff, not reviews. I think rating is based on rate of complains being marked as "solved" and also whatever else going on with the company (in case of Amazon, FTC's investigation affected the rating)
