- whiteboardr 5y agoDidn’t know. My apologies.
- lindseymysse 5y agoThis looks interesting. One glaring omission for me: no shipping containers. Seems like low hanging fruit. It seems a lot of the items trend toward "cute", and not much "functionality". For instance, a drawing of Pennywise from it, but only the Tesla Semi. If they got a full suite of transport models I would definitely get a subscription, at least for a month. But, I'm probably just going to use use sketchup or blender to generate my own suite of measured assets for my use. They won't be nearly as beautiful. But if they go more functional I can see this being as useful as The Noun Project for assets: https://thenounproject.com/ https://thenounproject.com/
- tolmasky 5y agoWhat are the licenses for these file? Couldn’t find any info, but I’m on mobile.
- Animats 5y agoTerrible. Read the terms and conditions. You can't do much except look at them, even after you pay to download. These terms are far worse than other 3D sites, such as TurboSquid or Thingiverse. You cannot sell, repackage, or redistribute any of our SVG, DWG, JPG, 3DM, OBJ, or SKP files under any circumstance without consent from Dimensions.com. You may not re-sell our digital files or modified versions of our digital files. This license does not include the right to compile the drawings or data from Dimensions.com to replicate a similar or competing service or data-based project. You may not use Dimensions.com to download drawings or 3D models to use on items for resale. This includes, and is not limited to: clothing items, wearables, posters, books, 3D prints, and other for sale products. Similarly, Dimensions.com drawings cannot be used to establish a commercial brand identity through use in a logo or use as significant brand graphics. Colored versions of 2D Dimensions.com drawings, or textured versions of 3D Dimensions.com models cannot be resold are marketed as your own products. Dimensions.com drawings cannot be incorporated or used to augment or supplement any software or applications without prior consent from Dimensions.com. This includes floor planning software, third party apps, digital CAD libraries, online apps and interfaces, and other similar formats. Not only are those unfavorable terms, but they're badly drafted. "Cannot be resold are marketed"? "May not use ... on items for resale" would seem to imply that you can't make the object modeled. Also, the site does not give the name and address of the business even though they accept credit cards, which is illegal in California and the EU.
