- xtiansimon 5y agoCurious. I just watched the film The Courier (2021) about the espionage exploits of British Businessman Grenville Wynne during the height of the Cold War (Cuban Missile Crisis). The subtext of the story is the threat of Nuclear war, which gripped the world at that time. Momentous times and their news filters. Several scenes of the film depict characters watching or listening to the news or reading newspapers. And, a line in the film warns that the fallout shelters won’t save you. Ever seen the PSAs from the 1950s training school children to get under their desk when the siren sounds? That sort of thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greville_Wynne?wprov=sfti1 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greville_Wynne?wprov=sfti1
