Does v8 turn it into actual CPU code, or just bytecode?
- goto11 5y agoAs far as I know it is JIT compiled to native code. But it is a rather complex process, where the execution is profiled which informs the JIT'er to re-optimize. This obviously have some overhead compared to executing AOT compiled code, but the overhead is independent from how long the code takes to execute. So if something is noticeably slow, it is not because of the JIT compilation overhead.
