My son had zero interest in command lines or programming until he got into Minecraft and Roblox. For the former, best mods are available for Java edition. Through that desire, he at least learned command prompt, basic directory navigation, and java -jar. For the latter, he wants to build a game, so we're learning some LUA together. Going through that process (we're very early in) has been great, since he also has ADHD and doing this work is helping with focus.
