Microsoft: Telemetry is essential in implementing a Zero Trust architecture
- newaccount2021 5y agoWhen the ChromeOS-like sandboxing was dropped from Win11, I wondered if Microsoft was just resigned to the fact that Windows would never have modern security. Now it seems they are perhaps just a bit more sly than anticipated and will roll out modern security incrementally, so not to upset their entrenched userbase. You have to wonder at what point they unleash the "extinguish" aspect of embrace/extend/extinguish and block important OS telemetry from third-party apps. The bolt-on security industry will complain but I doubt anyone will get very far complaining to the government that Windows needs to stay insecure so as to protect someone else's revenue stream... I predict Coming Next: random exes from random download sites cannot be given Admin privs (another blow to the third-party security industry but always a stupendously bad idea)
