Facebook's 'Meta' Name Faces Trademark Battle with a Startup
- redbell 5y agoWhen FB announces its new brand name as "meta", I was wondering if they already own the domain "meta.com" since it was a short four characters. Personally, I never had the chance to reserve a dot com domain with a beautiful/elegant/meaningful name. Whatever I type, it appears to be already reserved and, to add insult to injury, most of them where not active! So, mostly, I end up picking the full name in the TLD, something like: "youtu.be" , "app.store" etc

- kotaKat 5y agoI'm surprised VMware hasn't gone after them for the Horizon name when it comes to any kind of working environment. Horizon Workspaces... or Horizon Workrooms?
- redbell 5y agoWow! That seems to be very close terms in both naming and operation. Maybe Nvidia is busy building its nextgen of DGX A100!
- aaroninsf 5y agoRemains comedic that a company whose brand has become synonymous with lack of self-awareness lurched in this direction. This detail is frosting on the cake.
