The past week I've had a few family members and friends need tech support thinking they had been hacked (had ignored the email telling them about the change over) issue is they don't have a 2fa application. If they follow the instructions they download the google one which doesn't do backups and they don't trust authy or think the m$ one wont work with a google account. Scanning a QR code is something some can do but not all. The issue now is that even though they were using an insecure account they always had the ability to get back in - but now if they lose their phone and are signed out of the gmail apps for whatever reason thats it they're locked out forever!
