What the West gets wrong about China
- rektide 5y agoi'd like a control group that can be chinese but which isnt constantly denied access to knowledge, denied awareness of the world, denied it's own history. it would take generations, but this assertion that there are differnt people- i'm not sure it really would hold. i tend to think certain modes of thought & consideration & reflectance are simply cut off in china, that a culture with real critical self g societal review are impossoble there. to attribute these as core elements of a people seems like a blind denialism of the long pervasive & extensive influence of a government which mandates a basically puritanical level of social trust in itself.
