Show HN: OfficeRoutine – Everyone will clean the coffee machine
- wsenjer 5y agoBased on my previous experience, many companies I worked for had the problem organizing recurring tasks around the office. For example, cleaning the coffee machine, making the morning coffee, or taking the dishes out of the dishwasher ..etc. I built this app before COVID hits the world, and this let me down since many companies switched to remote work. Do you think we can pivot OfficeRoutine to adapt to the new norm? what do you think?
- netizen-936824 5y agoI think this could still have utility, more now even. Now the same people may not be in the office regularly but the tasks still need to be done every day. Your application could help schedule between different people in the office
- manx 5y agoI thought about rotating note taking in our weekly meetings. It's annoying to organize.
- wsenjer 5y agoThat's true, I also had the same issue when I was an employee. I'm still exploring the use cases, but pretty much anything that happens in the office in a recurring way can be a use case.
- 1cvmask 5y agoIt reminds me of Nihad Abbasov who wrote the scripts to automate routine tasks like texting his wife and make his coffee. https://github.com/NARKOZ/hacker-scripts https://github.com/NARKOZ/hacker-scripts https://www.thejournal.ie/programmer-scripts-to-do-his-job-email-his-wife-2469028-Jan2016/ https://www.thejournal.ie/programmer-scripts-to-do-his-job-e...
- zaik 5y agoDoes it support existing Internet Standards like CalDAV and CardDAV?
- wsenjer 5y agoRight now, it is just a simple scheduler with notifications. But I would consider supporting CalDAV in the near future.
- galfarragem 5y agoThis is actually a good idea. I momentously thought this was a prank but after a second thought I changed my mind. Something like this can reduce friction in daily office life.
