I suppose if you had a broken metal tape measure, this would be a good use, but I can't imagine cutting up a serviceable tape measure to make an antenna when there are other materials available.
- PaulHoule 5y agoI've done it, and so have many other hams. They work really well. I was at a high point of the local terrain and had an easy time getting into a repeater more than 100 miles away with a handheld transceiver.
