El Salvador makes Bitcoin legal tender
- jfengel 5y agoI've been trying to figure out what the exchange rate is, and TFA only says "the market". As far as I can make out, the dollar is still the real legal tender of El Salvador, but that vendors must take Bitcoin at "the market" rate instead. I assume that there's some specific "market" that's the official exchange rate, though TFA doesn't say which. It doesn't mention Lightning or who will pay transaction costs.
