I think I'm going to take the anti-HN approach here and say this will succeed. Video games are really popular, but they are not approachable for many people. Digital social is really popular, but the form factor (scrolling feeds) is getting old. Put these together and there's an opportunity for a totally new approach, throw in a multibillion dollar company throwing its weight behind it, it seems almost like a guarantee it will be awesome.
