    They did so with Instagram and Whatsapp and those are arguably their most successful product today.

      I'm not sure what good acquisitions by FB has to do with this conversation. The point was MS wasted billions of dollars.

        A decade ago, but they spent it on something that overlaps with their userbase, which was the point about hololens and comparing to FB.
