One of my [many!] bugbears is this use of 'Save the Planet' / 'Save the Earth' by the green movement, when what people actually mean is 'Save The Human Race'.

One of my [many!] bugbears is this use of 'Save the Planet' / 'Save the Earth' by the green movement, when what people actually mean is 'Save The Human Race'.
Barring The Sun going supernova, 'The Planet' will survive just fine and life, of some form or another, will thrive, as it has done for billions of years --whether or not we fuck the Earth up as regards making it uninhabitable for ourselves.
- readonthegoapp 5y agoNot sure I agree But i do think it would be useful to note that people have already started dying from global warming from the poorest in the world on up. The richest will barely be affected Except that they will probably get much more powerful
