  self selection and barriers to entry were a critical part of the early internet's culture. I see this as a feature.

    urbit is anything but the early internet. The early internet was of tinkering, of interest, and of collaboration - the very purpose of www is collaboration. urbit is a megalomaniac deluge of madness with it's idea to start from scratch only to end up with the exact same things but now named differently.
