- PragmaticPulp 5y agoWith $40K of income they were well into the subsidized region of the ACA. If they had bought a normal marketplace plan through normal channels with the normal subsidies they would have been fine. Even the out of pocket maximums on those plans are legally limited to mid four-figures per person. I wonder how they ended up with such an obscure, incomplete plan when every normal channel leads people toward the subsidized marketplace plans? This story doesn’t really make sense and it’s certainly not the normal experience, despite what the Tweet implies. You have to go well out of your way to get a weird plan like this, if you can find it at all.
