Britain can't decide whether it should send its looted treasures back
- aurizon 5y agoThe British and all the 'invaders who looted' were wrong to loot. In effect they took items of value for no reciprocal payment = theft. In mitigation, if the indigenes found them they would have used them to make new structure, or melted the gold down to other uses. Now they know better -one hopes most do?. The various thieving nations need to start a process of educational repatriation. Make a copy of the loot and return the original and educate the indigenes on curation and how to start their own museums. As time goes by they can accumulate their own treasures back as they learn to curate. Places that will not curate their own treasures - melting them down for their rulers etc - wait a while before giving them more...
