That’s not my experience at all. I’ve been using the included wired Apple headphones every day for running (in the Texas heat, though only ~30 minutes) and I’m going on year 4 with the same pair. That being said, there are many more contact points with a VR headset, so I could see it being a bigger issue. Plus many of them are padded, which will absorb sweat and are hard to clean without considerable effort.
