This isnt really the case. One of my old coworkers was seriously into kitkats and has eaten them from almost everywhere in the world.
Here's the issue with why US kitkats suck.. The chocolate is licensed to hersheys, whereas everywhere else uses Nestle chocolate. Hersheys has this "cheap/waxy" flavour.
Thank odd US laws for this.
Here (Canada) we have Nestle chocolate, and often send Canadian kitkats down south to our US counterparts.
