Ask HN: Do you care about IP protection on deployment on client's site?
Hi HN, When deploying software that runs on the client's site, from classic compiled software, to Python and Neural Networks, do you care to protect your IP with obfuscation, encryption or some other solution, or it's not something worth your time? Personally I didn't find many solutions to this, did you?
- jdsleppy 5y agoI worked somewhere where one of the considerations for moving from Python to go was a less browsable deliverable (executable vs code). I'm sure they would be happy to obfuscate beyond that.

- Raed667 5y agoWorked at a startup that didn't even bother with obfuscation because of this reasoning. It was much cheaper and more effective to draw a legal clause then spend time and energy with obfuscation
