The Facebook Papers: 6 Big Takeaways
- gigama 5y agoOne bit that stands out to me... A Facebook spokesperson said the company had invested "$13 billion and have 40,000 people working on the safety and security on our platform..." Hmmm... 40,000 might sound like a lot but 40,000 moderators for 2.5 billion (ie 2,500,000,000) users is only 1 moderator for every 62,500 users, assuming an even distribution. Without a linear distribution that would mean some groups get more moderators per user but also other groups get less. Either way that seems like a totally inadequate ratio considering how many posts, likes and shares those 2.5+ billion users generate each day. Anyone have data on the average number of posts (or engagements) a typical FB user generates per day?
