Question for the HN people: how would you bet on house prices going down in a near future ? Let's say you own your house and want to hedge against it losing value, or you are an outsider just interested in taking this side. In the financial market you would buy a put option or short the stock (among other possibilities) but I can't see myself borrowing a house to sell it and buy back when the market is lower. REIT stocks maybe ?
