The QUIC API OpenSSL will not provide
- voakbasda 5y agoThis seems very shortsighted by the OpenSSL team. The emergence of Quictls seems to parallel the creation of LibreSSL. In both cases, there appears to be significabt hubris affecting their decision making processes, thinking that the world revolves around their implementation. It does not.
- tomohawk 5y agoGoogle made the choice to implement QUIC in a library instead of getting into the OS distros. This was great for them as they have a monopoly on web browsers, but not so great for all of the other tooling that now is in need of a QUIC library to interoperate with these services.
- richdougherty 5y agoWas Google's implementation closed source or was it just not integrated into existing libraries/distros?
- rdpintqogeogsaa 5y agoBoringSSL is not versioned and breaks stuff all the time since it's for Google's internal usage, so it's not really distro-suitable.
