I'm a fan of https://www.solarham.net/ https://www.solarham.net/ , which includes an aurora forecast as well as other space weather info. I'm guessing this is showing up now because a Strong (G3) Geomagnetic Storm watch is ongoing, which could lead to the aurora being visible at lower latitudes. To quote them, "Should a G3 level storm materialize, visual aurora will likely be seen for locations as far south as 50 degrees geomagnetic latitude or beyond (Oregon, Nebraska, Pennsylvania etc). For now we wait."
