I've been doing some digging on German (type) stenography some years ago. Interestingly, it seems to be rather difficult to get this to work fast, in my understanding due to its grammatic structure. Hand written stenography is still the fastest writing system of all for the German language and hand written stenography is still the default for federal government sessions and in most state parliaments.
