Facebook (the company) is being renamed, not Facebook (the product). Many articles including the one linked above do not even mention that fact which seems weird. The guardian’s title is also pretty misleading but the mention the following down the line: > The new holding company Meta will encompass Facebook, its largest subsidiary, as well as apps such as Instagram, WhatsApp and the virtual reality brand Oculus. Which is much more accurate. This is what Google did with Alphabet so I’m amazed it comes to a surprise considering how many people want the brands to be more well split.
