I wonder how this will help their case against antitrust. At first blush, it seems to me that this might hurt them more than help them. Announcing one's desire to move to a higher level, to transcend, gives me the impression they want to be even more of a monopoly, not less. Or maybe it has the sense of "we don't care about your national laws, we will do as we please"—a bold challenge to nation-state regulation.
