EU’s Green Pass Vaccination ID Private Key Leaked
- Cryptonic 5y agoI'm German. My government fails in many ways regarding digital services and solutions. Almost always it ends embarrassing. They waste a lot of tax money to pay contractors, who only pretend to have good solutions. Sometimes there is corruption involved. Germany has the CCC, the people there are competent in these regards. Why does our government not listen more often? Why does our burocracy fail so often? Hell, if they cannot keep a vaccination key secret I'm glad we have no nuclear weapons under our own administration.

- Arnt 5y agoThe article appears to be wrong, from what I can tell: There isn't "a" private key. Rather, each country has one, which is used to sign intermediate keys, which in turn are used to sign the vaccination certificates. Some of those intermediates have been either leaked or misused, AFAICT. There have been stories about misuse before.
