Ask HN: How much continuing education does your company support?

I'm interested to find out what the continuing education norms are in the software industry. Medical Doctors are required by law to do 30 hours or more in a year. To me those numbers seem low for our industry. Feel free to answer how much time you are allotted for continuing ed. How much financial support they offer, or any resources they supply that you have access to (courses, books, whatever)
