  Cryptos are not securities unless you do an ICO and advertise it that way. Pump and dumps are legal.

    Not being securities only means you're safe from the SEC, you might still be on the hook for generic fraud charges.

    It is dangerous to conflate SEC regulations and plain old fraud. Promoting a security while you’re selling it is going to get you handed right over to a DA.
