I wouldn't recommend it. A former roommate had it done about a year ago and he constantly has to use eye drops. He also wasn't supposed to watch TV or use a computer for a month for any extended period of time because apparently you don't blink as often. He was also mildly near sighted and said that the improvement wasn't all that great.

Drops are a refresher and I use them roughly 1-2 times a day. I can tell you first hand that I'd much rather deal with eye drops than fumbling around with clunky glasses.
