My 16-year old daughter, who is a user of TikTok, has never joined Facebook, and none of her friends seem to be suggesting that she should so either they haven't joined either or it's just not how they communicate with their peers. They text, which has the big advantage of being a way of communicating without your parents or grandparents being in the conversation. :)
- raverbashing 5y agoIf tiktok has one redeeming quality is that it actively buries the polarizing content (of course some of this is debatable, like content relating to minorities, etc) But no bad vibes allowed there

- rossdavidh 5y agoHer mother introduced her to IG, but she doesn't seem to have been all that interested in it. Certainly doesn't seem to be a thing among her peer group. I should mention that YouTube most definitely is a thing, although that seems to be used more like TV and less like a social network (among her peers).
